Eligible Tires

OEM, OEA, or WIN tires purchased through the Volkswagen Tire Store Program that meet the specifications of the vehicle in accordance with the owner’s manual. Competitor quote must include the same tire that is available through the Volkswagen Tire Store Program including tire brand, model, size, sku/part number, load rating, and speed rating. The Tire Price Assurance program does not include labour for mounting and balancing, wheel weights, or any other charges.

Eligible Customers

Customers must reside in Canada.

Eligible Competitors

Eligible competitors must (1) sell and install tires; (2) be located within 50 kilometres of the Volkswagen retailer location; (3) be located in Canada and (4) have the tires quoted in stock. Any quote that indicates that a tire is “Special Order” or that it must be shipped to the eligible competitor location within a certain amount of days is not considered in stock and will not be eligible. Warehouses do not qualify as retail locations. Warehouse clubs (e.g., Costco) do qualify. Road hazard coverage must be included in the competitor’s quote and be comparable to the road hazard coverage offered through the Volkswagen Tire Store Program. An $8 per tire markup is added to any quote that does not include comparable road hazard coverage. Only printed quotes are accepted.

Eligible Quotes

Price match limited to comparable quotes located and presented to retailer by customer. Price quotes located with Volkswagen retailer assistance are not eligible for reimbursement.

Claim Confirmation/Audit

The Volkswagen Tire Store Program reserves the right to request additional documentation and/or contact the retail customer to determine compliance with Program Guidelines and/or confirm claim eligibility. The Volkswagen Tire Store Program also reserves the right to audit, at its discretion, approved claims to confirm compliance with Program Guidelines and/or confirm claim eligibility. After review and examination, if a claim or portion of a claim cannot be substantiated or is not in compliance with Program Guidelines, Volkswagen Tire Store reserves the right to debit the retailer location’s non-vehicle account in that amount.

Program Description

Retailers who match an Eligible Competitor’s lower price on eligible tires can receive a credit for the difference between the competitor’s matched price and the suggested list price or actual sales price (whichever is lowest).

The following conditions are eligible for price match reimbursement;

1. Price matched after the purchase: Within 30 days of purchasing a tire from a Volkswagen retailer, a customer presents a quote from an Eligible Competitor with a lower price.
2. Price matched prior to the purchase: A customer presents an Eligible Competitor quote dated no more than 30 days from the actual purchase of an Eligible Tire.
3. An Eligible Competitor’s price must be substantiated by a price quote showing quote date, tire description, and offered price. Freight charges must be included in all Internet quotes. Internal repair orders are excluded from this program.

If a customer presents a quote that does not include road hazard, add $8 per tire for the price match calculation.

Exclusions

Retailers cannot price match the following: bonus, bundled, free, or special offers; coupons, rebates, or promotions; clearance or closeout prices; used tires; labour or other charges; typographical errors; competitors’ prices that result from a price match; quotes from other automotive retailer locations; quotes located with Volkswagen retailer assistance.
